Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of yourtakehome.co.uk (the "Site") and the calculator tools published on it. By using the Site you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the Site.
Last updated: 27 June 20261. The Service
Your Take Home provides a free, browser-based UK take-home pay calculator. The calculator processes user-entered inputs (gross salary, pension contributions, student loan plan, household costs, etc.) and produces an estimated breakdown of net take-home pay and household disposable income.
The calculations are produced entirely in your browser. No salary, pension or household data is transmitted to our servers as part of the calculation. Where you choose to share a generated URL, the URL contains your inputs in plain text; this is by design and is the only way the share-link feature can work without server-side storage.
2. Not Financial Advice
Nothing on this Site is financial, tax, legal, or accountancy advice. The figures the calculator produces are estimates based on publicly published HMRC, Scottish Government, Welsh Government and Northern Ireland Department of Health rules in force at the date stated on each page.
For decisions that depend on accurate net pay figures (mortgage applications, contract negotiations, tax-year-end planning, etc.), please verify the figures with:
- Your payslip or P60
- Your HMRC Personal Tax Account
- A regulated financial adviser, accountant, or tax agent
The mortgage-borrowing capacity indicator is illustrative only. Lenders use criteria beyond annual income — credit history, deposit size, existing debt, affordability stress tests, current interest rates — none of which the calculator models. The figure shown is not a loan offer or pre-approval and should not be relied upon for property-purchase decisions.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of, restrict or inhibit anyone else's use of the Site. Specifically you agree not to:
- Use automated systems (bots, scrapers, headless browsers running in scale) to access the Site beyond reasonable personal use
- Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the Site's functionality, including by attempting to inject malicious code, denial-of-service the servers, or bypass any rate limits
- Republish substantial portions of the Site's calculator engine, content, or design as your own without permission
- Use the Site to mislead others — e.g. fabricating fake share-link URLs to misrepresent someone else's income
4. Accuracy of Calculations
We take reasonable care to keep tax / NI / pension / student loan thresholds up to date with HMRC and devolved-administration publications. Despite this, calculations may contain errors due to:
- Rapid changes to HMRC guidance after our last data refresh
- Edge cases not yet modelled (specific tax codes, marriage allowance transfers, blind person's allowance, payrolled benefits, etc.)
- Errors in user input (incorrect tax code, wrong pension scheme selection)
- Bugs in the underlying calculation engine
We rely on user reports to surface errors. If you spot a calculation that doesn't match your payslip, please email contact@yourtakehome.co.uk with your inputs and the difference, and we will investigate.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all liability for:
- Losses arising from reliance on figures produced by the calculator
- Indirect, consequential, special, or incidental losses
- Loss of profit, business, contracts, opportunity, goodwill, or anticipated savings
- Service interruptions, downtime, or temporary unavailability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be lawfully excluded under English law.
6. Third-Party Content & Affiliate Links
The Site may include links to third-party websites (HMRC, ONS, NHSBSA, etc.) for reference. We do not control these sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or availability.
The Site may also include advertisements served via Google AdSense or similar networks, and affiliate links to financial products. Affiliate relationships are disclosed where relevant. Advertising does not affect the impartiality of the calculator output. We do not endorse advertisers' products and any decision to use them is yours.
7. Intellectual Property
The Site's content, calculator design, layout, visual styling, and underlying calculation engine are owned by Your Take Home or licensed to us. You may use the calculator freely for personal, non-commercial purposes and may share generated links with others. You may not:
- Reverse-engineer or copy the calculator engine for republication on another site
- Frame the Site or its sub-pages within a third-party site without permission
- Use the Site's logos, branding, or visual design in your own products
The figures, rules and thresholds the calculator uses are taken from publicly published UK government sources, which are Crown Copyright under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
8. Privacy
How we handle data is set out in our privacy policy. In short: we do not transmit your calculator inputs to our servers. We use Google Analytics (anonymised) and may use cookies for advertising. Full details and your cookie controls live in the privacy policy.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time — for example, when we add new features, new pages, or to reflect changes in the law. Updates take effect from the "Last updated" date at the top of the page. Continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of use of the Site will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
